Dear Floyd Family,

Due to recent communication regarding verification of the certified vendors supplying our eclipse viewing glasses, Floyd will be viewing the eclipse inside the building via live video streaming.  We will keep all children inside.  Although we used two certified sources (Rainbow Symphony and American Paper Optics) to supply the eclipse viewing glasses for our students, we will remain inside.  If you plan to check out your child early, please do so by 12:45.  Thank you!

1. Classes will access https://www.nasa.gov/eclipselive-info or CobbEdTV for a live streaming video of the Total Solar Eclipse.

Please remember that students will be released later on Aug. 21 because of this rare phenomenon (5:00).

Floyd Middle Parents who are interested in serving on the School Council should email Dr. Teresa Hargrett at Teresa.Hargrett@cobbk12.org by Friday, Aug. 25.  Please provide your student’s name and grade level.  Two parent positions on the council are open for election.

A list of nominees will be shared by Aug. 28.

The Election will take place at Floyd on Sept. 19, 8:30-4:30. Parents of Floyd students will need to come to the main office to cast a vote.
